A baby boom at Moreton Dental Care looks like setting a new record with one third of staff due off on maternity leave at the same time.

Six staff are expected to have given birth by the summer.

Three babies have already arrived- baby Henry was born to hygienist Stephanie Farrell in September, while baby Oliver was delivered to dental nurse Kerry Baily in October, followed by baby Evie to dental nurse Jennie Thorpe in December.

Three more dental nurses, Beckie Warren, Suzy Roberts and Gemma Barnes are all due in the next few months.

Congratulations to them all!

With five out of nine dental nurses booked to be off on maternity leave at the same time, it could create a staffing nightmare for principal dentist Dr Paul Sherrard- but he says he's taking it all in his stride.

Said Dr Sherrard: "This is obviously a challenging situation for an employer, but they are such lovely staff I'm delighted for them.  Having a family is such a special thing, and thanks to everyone being so flexible in the past we have always been able to offer part-time work to those wanting it on return from maternity leave.

" In the 25 years I've run the practice we have had staff overlapping on maternity leave a few times, but six at once it certainly a record."
