A fixed bridge is an option to replace one or more missing teeth. The teeth either side of the gap are prepared in the same way as a crown, impressions taken and the bridge made at the laboratory. The gap is bridged with an additional tooth or teeth attached between the crowns. Bridges are an option if you do not wish to have dental implants or a denture to replace your missing tooth or teeth.
- Restore your smile
- Restore your ability to chew
Disadvantages of fixed bridges:
- Need to drill down teeth adjacent to gap
- Nerves in those teeth may later die leading to need for root canal treatment
- Prepared teeth eventually fracture off as they are compromised.
We also provide adhesive bridges but these are semi-permanent.
