Patients can look years younger after undergoing cosmetic dental treatment. Some then feel they would like to complement their new smile by reducing and softening wrinkles and facial lines. To meet this demand Dr Lucy Benbow has introduced a facial rejuvenation service and provides free consultations to give patients the opportunity to fully discuss treatment options.
Ant-wrinkle treatment (Botulinium Toxin Type A).
Facial muscles are repeatedly used throughout a life time such as when smiling, laughing and frowning, and as a result the skin is creased in areas of greatest use.
Anti-wrinkle treatment works by reducing the movement of these facial muscles so the skin stops being creased and is allowed to recover, causing the lines to soften or even fade away.
In the area treated the muscles are temporarily inactivated during which time the patient can break the subconscious habit of overusing these muscles.
The wrinkle-relaxing injection treatment usually takes 2-14 days for full effects to be seen. It is non-permanent and usually last for about 4 months. Side effects are minimal and it has a very high margin of safety, having been used for more than 30 years in certain medical cases. It is the most commonly performed non-surgical facial treatment worldwide.
